Job summary

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work full-time at the Jennifer Road Detention Center in Annapolis, MD.

The LPN will provide comprehensive nursing care under the supervision of an RN and handle electronic medical records securely. Shifts available include Full-Time Day (7:00am–7:30pm) with every-other-weekend rotation and Full-Time Night (7:00pm–7:30am) with weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• Maryland LPN license is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
• Ability to function under supervision by an RN.
• Demonstrates clinical competency and professional accountability.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to inmates/patients.
• Maintain and update electronic medical records securely.
• Document and track controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps as required by law.
• Conduct sick calls and provide treatment per protocol and PCM Medical Director approval.
• Record, retrieve, and file medical information in patient records.

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is looking for dedicated and hard-working Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to work full-time in the medical department at the Jennifer Road Detention Center located in Annapolis, MD. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care and perform duties under the supervision of an RN.

Available Shifts:

• Full-Time Day Shift, 7:00am to 7:30pm & a rotation of every other weekend
• Full-Time Night Shift, 7:00pm to 7:30 am & a rotation of every other weekend

Job Responsibilities:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will primarily be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care while ensuring the proper flow of relevant information is disseminated to appropriate personnel. In addition, the Licensed Practical Nurse will also maintain, update, and work with electronic medical records and ensure that they are secure. Other responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
• Conducting sick calls for inmates/patients and providing treatment for illnesses and injuries, defined by written protocol and approved by the PCM Medical Director.
• Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions, and progress of inmates/patients and participating in the formulation of the plan of care.
• Record, retrieve, and file medical information in the inmate/patient medical record.

This position provides a 2-week orientation period where you will be training on the job and shadowing with the nursing staff.

(Please note that the pay range is not a sliding scale based on experience; it reflects the base pay as well as the differentials offered between shifts.)
