Job summary

Healthcare Staffing Professionals is recruiting Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) in Adrian, MI to deliver nursing care in state correctional facilities under RN/MD supervision, with focus on safe, therapeutic environments.

Shifts: 0930-2200, 1130-2200, 1330-2200; Pay: $46/hr for 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

• American Heart Association - BLS Certificate
• Active LPN License in the state of Michigan

Responsibilities

• Set up prescribed medications in accordance with patients' nursing care plans
• Administer medications to patients orally, intra-muscularly or subcutaneously
• Monitor effects of medication and record administrations
• Assist in rehabilitation programming (social skills, daily living skills, reality orientation)
• Record treatments in patient medical records
• Perform nursing acts under supervision as delegated by RN per Michigan law
• Administer nursing procedures per nursing care plans (sterile dressings, ROM, catheterization, etc.)

Job description

Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) in Adrian, MI. Successful candidates will provide skilled nursing services to patients in state correctional facilities, under the direction of a professional registered nurse or medical doctor and provide a variety of related services to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

Pay Rate: $46/hr. working 40 hours a week

Shifts

• 0930-2200/ 1130-2200/ 1330-2200

Job Duties

• Set up prescribed medications in accordance with patients' nursing care plans
• Administer medications to patients orally, intra-muscularly or subcutaneously
• Monitor effects of medication, records all medications given to patients'
• Assists in rehabilitation programming, such as:
• Development of social skills
• Development of daily living skills
• Reality orientation
• Recreational skills, etc.
• Record treatment given to patients on their medical record
• In accordance with Section 161 of Michigan Public Health Code, LPN's will perform nursing acts, functions, or tasks under the delegation/supervision of the registered nurse.
• Administer nursing procedures to patients in accordance with patients nursing care plans, such procedures include sterile dressing, soaks, compresses, enemas, suppositories, tube feeding, oxygen therapy, range of motion therapy, catheterization, diabetic care, pre- and post-operative care etc.

Minimum Qualifications

• American Heart Association - BLS Certificate
• Active LPN License in the state of Michigan
