Job summary

American Homestays, LLC is seeking a skilled Plumber to perform a wide range of plumbing repairs, installations, and maintenance across residential and commercial properties in the Baltimore area. This full-time role involves responding to routine service requests, emergency repairs, and planned upgrades, either independently or with maintenance teams.

The candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in plumbing, strong knowledge of systems and materials, and the ability to troubleshoot

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in residential and/or commercial plumbing.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and materials.
  • Reliable transportation and own tools.
  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot efficiently.
  • Must carry or be willing to obtain general liability insurance if 1099.
  • Experience in multi-unit housing, affordable housing, or supportive housing settings.
  • Ability to assess and quote materials/labor for small projects.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain water supply lines, drain systems, fixtures, and appliances (e.g., sinks, toilets, water heaters).
  • Diagnose and resolve leaks, clogs, low pressure, and other plumbing issues.
  • Replace or repair damaged piping, valves, or connections.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plumbing systems.
  • Ensure work is completed in compliance with local plumbing codes and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of services provided, parts used, and hours worked.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism in residential and commercial environments.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Plumber to perform a wide variety of plumbing repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks across residential and commercial properties in the Baltimore area. This full‑time role requires the professional to respond to routine service requests, emergency repairs, and planned upgrades—working independently or in collaboration with property maintenance and renovation teams.

BENEFITS

This position is eligible for standard W‑2 employee benefits, including but not limited to those outlined in the Company’s official benefits package. ANTICIPATED TRAVEL

50% of the time. The employee will use a company vehicle. There is no additional compensation for travel.

COMPENSATION RANGE

$15.00 - $35.00 per hour commensurate on experience, education and credentials.

WORK SCHEDULE

Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM–6:00 PM. Scheduling needs may vary based on business demands, and adjustments may be required as reasonably assigned.

SCHEDULED DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

UNSCHEDULED DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist supervisor with work‑related requests.
  • Follow regulations of COMAR, CARF, and other regulatory bodies, and company policies related to service delivery and documentation. Co‑facilitate orientation of all new hires to these regulations.
  • Support the maintenance of a safe environment by participating in training and drills as requested.
  • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients’ treatment.
  • Participate in external and internal audits/surveys (CARF/CSA/OHCQ) as directed.
  • Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement plans by completing periodic audits or other activities to ensure regulatory compliance and improve service delivery.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly walk, stand or stoop; occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 100 pounds; and regularly drive a motor vehicle.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions.
  • May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Exposure to potentially hazardous materials, heights, and tight spaces.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in certain situations.
COMPETENCY AND SKILLS
  • Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar maintenance role.
  • Proficiency in a variety of trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
LEVEL OF EDUCATION / TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in residential and/or commercial plumbing.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and materials.
  • Reliable transportation and own tools.
  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot efficiently.
  • Must carry or be willing to obtain general liability insurance if 1099.
  • Experience in multi‑unit housing, affordable housing, or supportive housing settings.

EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification is a plus.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSE
  • Gas line or backflow certification is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Valid Maryland journeyman or master plumber license.
