Summary
The Plumber is responsible for setting up, repairing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and maintaining the plumbing system and components for an organization or its customers. The company provides opportunities for continual training and gaining experience in the industry.
Responsibilities
- Service and repair all types of plumbing equipment.
- Read blueprints to diagnose, troubleshoot, analyze, and locate malfunctions on the plumbing unit.
- Replace defective or worn parts and make necessary adjustments.
- Provide suggestions for increased energy efficiency and set controls to ensure proper system operation.
- Install and/or assist in installation of plumbing equipment as needed.
- Meet the customer’s needs and provide excellent positive customer service.
- Meet quarterly goals.
- Participate in an on-call rotation, remaining flexible with work hours.
- Operate a company vehicle as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of service experience in the plumbing industry.
- Journeyman or Master license highly preferred (not required).
- Clean driving record, no more than 2 points on license.
- Clear communication skills for both customers and co-workers.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Willing to cross-train others.
- Ability to work in hot or cold environments, including attics, crawl spaces, and roofs.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks such as climbing, stooping, pulling, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Good vision (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception).
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Field work in customers' homes or businesses, driving a company vehicle.
- Exposure to fumes, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and extreme weather conditions.
- Occasional exposure to hot attics or cold places; must maintain a positive attitude toward the customer.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance; stoop, pull, kneel, crouch, or crawl; access restrictive spaces such as attics or crawl spaces.
- Occasionally required to climb a ladder to access plumbing equipment on a roof.
