Twin Lakes Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Greensburg, PA is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for PRN/per diem staffing at our 137-bed skilled nursing facility. You will support therapists, deliver individual therapy per care plans, and help Assess residents within an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program and must hold a PA PTA license.
• Associate’s Degree in PTA from an accredited college or university.
• Experience as an assistant in a hospital, nursing facility, or related medical setting.
• Ability to interpret physical therapy policies and procedures.
• Maintain supplies, equipment and appearance of therapy areas.
• Willingness to adopt new methods and integrate them into therapy services.
• Ability to relate resident condition information clearly.
• Successful completion of post offer, pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, developing, and delivering physical therapy services.
• Provide individual therapy services to residents per care plans.
• Assist in resident assessment activities as needed.
• Develop therapy plans with the MDS for individual residents.
• Inform PT of any needed adjustments to therapy plans.
• Brief residents on procedures and prepare equipment.
• Participate in discharge planning and care plan development.
• Coordinate therapy appointments with other departments.
• Follow therapy department safety standards.
• Maintain therapy area equipment and appearance.

Requirements of the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA):

• Graduate of an accredited PTA is required and must have a valid professional license by discipline for state of PAIndirect License required.

• Must possess, an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university for Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA).

• Must have experience in an assistant capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility.

• Must possess the ability to interpret the policies and procedures of physical therapy.

• Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of therapy areas.

• Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing therapy services.

• Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.

• Must successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical / drug screen.

Rehabilitation Techs are utilized to assist therapists with resident transport and administrative functions. The rehab department utilizes Optima Therapy for billing and documentation to assist therapists with daily efficiency where quality care remains the primary focus of each therapist. The facility has a 7-day a week, In-House comprehensive rehabilitation program that is an integral member of the interdisciplinary team. Our rehab positions are stable and secure at one location. Each rehab department offers spacious state of the art equipment and ADL Suites.

Responsibilities of thePhysical Therapy Assistant (PTA):

• Your primary focus will be to assist in the planning, organizing, developing, and delivering of Physical Therapy Services in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, to ensure the highest degree of quality resident is continuously maintained.

• Providing individual therapy services to residents according to the care plans.

• Assisting in resident assessment activities as needed

• Assisting as needed in developing therapy plans for individual residents in conjunction with MDS.

• Keeping the Physical Therapist informed of any need to adjust therapy plans to match or support resident care plan goals.

• Briefing residents in procedures involved in occupational therapy and preparing necessary equipment.

• Participating in discharge planning, development and implementation of resident care plans, resident assessments, etc.

• Coordinating therapy appointments with other departments.

• Following physical therapy department safety standards.

• Maintaining the care and use of supplies, equipment, and appearance of the therapy area.
