Description

$5,000 sign on bonus for Physical Therapy Assistants and Occupational Therapy Assistants. A 2-year commitment period is required. The Bonus payout occurs over the 2-year period.

POSITION SUMMARY: Acute Care and/or Outpatient Rehab

Supports therapist in assessing the condition of patients, planning treatment programs, preparing treatment schedules and keeping records on the progress of treatment.

Assists with therapeutic procedures or administering procedures under a therapist's supervision.

Assists in exercise instruction and demonstration, patient evaluation and testing.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Minimum Education: Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant program
Required Licenses: NC Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant
Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Recommended affiliation with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physically, the PTA is required to assist in moving and lifting patients; to push/pull heavy objects (e.g. wheelchairs or stretchers); to stay on his/her feet for long periods; to bend and stoop; and to reach above shoulder height. Patients may vary in size from as little as 80 pounds to as large as 400 pounds and may be totally dependent in all aspects of daily living or relatively independent. There is limited exposure to infectious materials and diseases.
