The role works as a team member to improve quality patient care and supports the physical therapy department across inpatient and outpatient settings.

The PTA will assist with treatment plans, deliver interventions, document care, coordinate services, and participate in clinical education and program development.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from a CAPTE accredited program.
  • Current North Carolina license to practice physical therapy.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
  • Good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Recognize, select and utilize effective methods of verbal and non-verbal interactions based on the age of the patient.
  • Develop and modify goals and treatment plans in collaboration with the physical therapist.
  • Deliver various therapeutic interventions accurately and effectively.
  • Coordinate the delivery of physical therapy services.
  • Document services delivered clearly, concisely, and accurately.
  • Actively participate in the education of self, patient and others.
  • Cross train in other settings to provide coverage as needed.
  • Assist with project and program development while maintaining patient caseload.
