Job summary

Northwest Regional Education Service District is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to support students under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. This ongoing recruitment position covers multiple locations and offers both full-time and part-time schedules.

The role involves implementing treatment plans, collecting data, collaborating with educators and parents, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• AA degree or equivalent; six months to one year related experience or training.
• Ability to learn computer functions including e-mail and word processing.
• Ability to learn equipment used to assist children with orthopedic impairment under supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Current State of Oregon LPTA license is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the treatment plan provided by the physical therapist.
• Work with students with physical disabilities to achieve goals.
• Collect and record student data and communicate needs to the physical therapist and classroom teacher.
• Implement intervention programs for students with physical disabilities.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and report observations to supervisor and other team members.
• Maintain records of frequency and duration of student activities and submit progress reports.
• Maintain equipment, supplies and records as directed; bills for Medicaid reimbursement.
• Provide staff training on lifting, positioning, etc.
• May supervise PTA students.
• Communicate with educational professionals and parents regarding student progress.
• Provide housekeeping duties where PT services are provided.
