Job summary

Northwest Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PRN - Flexible Scheduling) to assist licensed Physical Therapists in outpatient and acute care settings. The role focuses on evidence-based therapies to improve patient function and independence.

Responsibilities include implementing interventions, monitoring progress, educating patients, and maintaining accurate documentation while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• PTA license in state of employment required
• BCLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapist in evaluating and adjusting treatment plans to achieve clinical outcomes.
• Implement therapeutic interventions focusing on posture, balance, locomotion, strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination, pain management, and daily activities.
• Administer treatment methods under supervision, aligned with current PT practices.
• Monitor patient progress and report responses to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients on exercises and self-management strategies.
• Ensure treatments are tailored to patient age, development, culture, and goals.
• Document patient care clearly, including plans, interventions, progress notes, and discharge recommendations.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team and participate in discharge planning and follow-up.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain regular attendance.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
