Gila Regional Medical Center is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to support inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. The role emphasizes contributing to patient mobility, pain relief, and functional goals, with active family/caregiver involvement in care planning.
Essential duties include accurate documentation, communication with the care team, and safe treatment delivery.
Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for treating patients who require physical therapy services. S/he uses physical treatment procedures to help improve mobility and relieve pain and disability caused by disease or injury. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, the physical therapy assistant provides treatment in both inpatient and outpatient settings, executing the goals given by the supervising physical therapist.
Implements patient care based on the Physical Therapist’s evaluation and the patient’s present level of function related to their physical, psychosocial, age and medical needs, involving the patient, as well as the family/caregiver in the planning and delivery of care.
