Job summary

Pardee UNC Health Care is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. You will provide skilled treatments, design exercise programs, and teach patients to use ambulatory devices to reach PT goals.

Join our team and help plan patient needs, educate families, and contribute to discharge planning. This per diem onsite role supports outpatient and inpatient settings, with weekend shifts and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant required.
• NC license or eligibility required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Experience in outpatient, inpatient, home health, and/or long term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to interdisciplinary team meetings to plan for patient needs, discharge plans, and family education.
• Precepts PT technicians or other assistants and evaluates learner competency.
• Documents patient treatment and progress toward goals; completes billing and statistics records.
• Instructs PT and PTA students.
• Provides skilled PT treatments and designs exercise programs; teaches ambulation with devices and home exercises for discharge.

Summary:

The Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant, working under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, performs

treatments and provides exercise instruction and demonstration for patients

Responsibilities:

• Contributes to various interdisciplinary team meetings to plan for patient needs, discuss family education plans, and discharge plans.
• Precepts PT technicians or other physical therapist assistants and evaluate the learner's competency per department guidelines.
• Documents patient treatment and progress toward goals. Completes department records for billing and statistics.
• Instructs physical therapy and physical therapist assistant students.
• Provides skilled physical therapy treatments to a wide variety of patients. Designs and teach exercise program to meet PT goals. Fits and teaches patient to use ambulatory devices including braces, walkers, canes, crutches safely to negotiate stairs, curbs, and unlevel ground. Teaches patient airway clearance techniques and perform chest PT procedures. Instructs patient and family in home exercises, ambulation, and use of adaptive equipment for discharge.
