Job summary

SpecialtyRx in Kentucky is seeking a Licensed Pharmacist to join our Long-Term Care team. You will evaluate medication orders for drug appropriateness, dosage, interactions, and proper administration, ensure accurate dispensing and labeling, and communicate with facilities’ nursing staff and physicians.

You will supervise medicine preparation, make therapy recommendations to physicians, investigate medication-related queries, and maintain customers’ medical history and clinical data databases.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist with KY Board of Pharmacy a must.
• Previous experience in Long Term Care preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, accurately, and efficiently.
• Must be multi-tasking and reliable.
• Computer literate, knowledge of Frameworks LTC system, PLUS.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and proper administration.
• Ensure that dispensed medicines are correctly supplied and labeled.
• Communicate with facilities’ nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare team members in regard to medication-related query.
• Supervise the preparation of any medicines.
• Make recommendation for therapy changes to the physician and client facilities staff, if necessary.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related queries.
• Maintain customers’ database to include medical history, clinical, laboratory data, etc.
