Job summary

Specialty Rx, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Pharmacist to ensure adherence to pharmacy procedures and SOPs, delivering safe, high-quality care under the supervision of the VP of Ops & Pharmacist In Charge.

You will evaluate orders, maintain labeling and databases, advise on therapy changes with physicians, and supervise medication preparation while upholding our CARE culture—Commitment, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Pharmacist in Nebraska required and active.
  • Long Term Care experience preferred.
  • Hospital and Retail pharmacy experience helpful.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and reliably.
  • Familiarity with computer systems and workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate medication orders for drug appropriateness, dosage, interactions, and administration.
  • Maintain dispensed medications with correct supply and labeling.
  • Recommend therapy changes to physicians and facility staff when needed.
  • Maintain customers' medical history and clinical data in databases.
  • Investigate and resolve medication-related queries.
  • Communicate with nursing staff, physicians and healthcare team.
  • Supervise preparation of medicines.
  • Maintain a register of controlled drugs for compliance.
  • Ensure proper security conditions for medications.
  • Perform on-call duties as required.

Position Summary

The Licensed Pharmacist will ensure the adherence of pharmacy procedures and SOPs in accordance with company laws, state and federal regulations. The Licensed Pharmacist will ensure regulations are correct and the safe supply of medical products to the client facilities, under the general supervision of the VP of Ops & Pharmacist In Charge.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and proper administration.
  • Maintain dispense medications are correctly supplied and labeled.
  • Make recommendations for therapy changes to the physician and client facilities staff, if necessary.
  • Maintain customers' databases including but not limited to medical history, clinical, laboratory data, etc.
  • Investigate and resolve medication‑related queries.
  • Communicate with facilities' nursing staff, physicians and other healthcare team members regarding medication‑related queries.
  • Supervise the preparation of any medicines.
  • Maintain a register of controlled drugs for legal and stock control purposes.
  • Maintain proper security conditions for medications.
  • Perform "on‑call" duties when required.
Education, Knowledge, and Skills
  • Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Nebraska.
  • Long Term Care experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in Hospital and Retail pharmacy or other medical fields.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Computer skills.
  • Framework / ECM software knowledge a plus.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Creating a safe, effective environment.
Shift

2:30pm - 11:00pm with rotating weekends.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, walk, bend, and crouch frequently.
  • Ability to occasionally perform light lifting (up to 20 pounds) and repetitious physical activity.
  • Repetitive computer and phone use.
  • Work is performed in a pharmacy and office environment.
