Job description

Athleats Nutrition is a concierge nutrition company combining functional medicine with performance nutrition. We provide concierge-level nutrition coaching to elite performers nationwide (sometimes worldwide). Currently, we are looking to bring on a part-time, contracted licensed performance nutritionist.

You will work independently using our proven system of education and coaching. Our clients seek high-level personalized nutrition coaching and expect concierge-level services. We will provide you with the clients. You must enjoy working with clients, students, and support staff regularly. A quick learner with a willingness to grow is ideal. This is not an entry-level position. We can teach high-level sports nutrition, but you should have experience with one-on-one client work, sports nutrition, and sales calls. This job is remote.

Responsibilities:
  1. Work with high-performing, high-profile, high-net-worth individuals to reach their body composition, athletic, and lifestyle goals.
  2. Create detailed nutrition plans based on specific macros, nutrient timing, schedules, lifestyles, travel, location, tournaments, etc.
  3. Conduct discovery calls and convert them into sales.
  4. Collaborate with personal assistants, managers, agents, chefs, and other staff for local and travel food arrangements.
  5. Educate clients about nutritional protocols, explaining the rationale behind them.
  6. Have a solid understanding of functional medicine (root cause medicine) and application of protocols.
  7. Analyze lab chemistry and develop protocols based on labs.
  8. Apply and analyze longevity protocols (red light therapy, cold plunge, sauna, hyperbaric chamber).
  9. Work with gut health protocols (SIBO, GI MAP, Celiac, IBD).
  10. Coach clients on changing habits through nutritional practices.
  11. Create and provide protocols for snacks, meal ideas, and shopping lists.
  12. Develop and implement nutrition protocols for injury recovery.
  13. Create and execute detailed hydration protocols.
  14. Monitor body composition using tools like skinfold calipers, Inbody, DXA, etc.
  15. Coordinate with chefs, meal prep services, medical professionals, etc.
  16. Maintain ongoing relationships with athletes' medical teams, understanding protocols for recovery, load management, rehab, and return to play.
  17. Communicate with athletes' coaching and strength & conditioning teams.
  18. Possess comprehensive knowledge of strength & conditioning and sports performance (yoga and Pilates do not count).
  19. Prescribe supplement protocols following safe sport practices.
  20. Potentially conduct group speaking and education sessions for athletes, medical staff, coaches, or parents.
  21. Recognize disordered eating and behavioral eating patterns.
  22. Ideally, have an understanding of hormones and peptides (not required).
Requirements:
  1. At least 3 years of experience as a performance nutritionist in a one-on-one setting.
  2. Must be an RD or CNS (CSSD a plus).
  3. Master's degree required.
  4. Understand the schedule, lifestyle, and mindset of student athletes, elite athletes, and high-net-worth professionals.
  5. Comprehensive knowledge of macronutrients and how to apply them to achieve performance and body composition goals.
  6. Experience working with athletic populations.
  7. Experience with root cause medicine (autoimmunity, gut health, hormones, FODMAP, etc.).
  8. Background in athletics, personal training, or strength and conditioning.
  9. Excellent understanding of supplements and their application in sport (NSF for Sport/Informed Sport).
  10. Ability to analyze labs like CMP, CBC, hormone panels, thyroid, micronutrients, fatty acids, etc.
  11. Good understanding of strength & conditioning.
  12. Ability to collaborate with coaching and medical staff.
  13. Well-spoken with clear communication skills for diverse populations.
  14. Independent thinker, able to work in a fast-paced environment, make critical decisions, and stay organized.
  15. Ability to work nontraditional hours, including daytime, some evenings, and possibly weekends.
Preferred Experience:
  1. Experience with sales and discovery calls.
  2. CSCS or similar certification.
  3. Knowledge of modalities like red-light therapy, stem cells, HBOT, cold plunge, contrast therapy, etc.
