Job summary

ARCXIS, headquartered in Houston, Texas, seeks a Structural Engineer 1 (PE) to review, approve, and seal structural plans, ensuring designs meet ARCXIS standards and jurisdictional requirements across markets. You will mentor EITs, develop standards, and support expansion into new states, while collaborating with clients and field personnel.

The role requires a PE license, 4+ years of structural design experience, and strong knowledge of wood-frame construction, IRC/IBC/ASCE codes, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Licensed PE with structural design experience.
• Experience with wood-frame construction for single-family homes.

Responsibilities

• Review structural designs, plans, calculations, and details.
• Approve, sign, and seal structural plans and calculations where licensed.
• Ensure designs comply with building codes, ARCXIS standards, and jurisdictional requirements.
• Mentor Engineers-in-Training and junior staff.
• Develop and maintain design standards, procedures, and QC processes.
• Assist with R&D for expansion into new states/markets.
• Communicate with builders, contractors, clients, and internal teams.
