Role Overview

The Licensed Optician delivers the brand value, helps establish LensCrafters as the premier destination for vision needs, and creates exceptional value through legendary customer service and high-quality eyewear, exceeding customer expectations.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Welcome all customers and set expectations.
2. Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
3. Act as a leader in optical knowledge.
4. Take and record measurements; adjust and fit eyewear with attention to detail.
5. Assist with complex product needs and prescriptions.
6. Use technology accurately and efficiently under time pressure.
7. Identify root causes of issues, be proactive, and ensure customer satisfaction.
8. Manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
9. Achieve results on brand KPIs and competencies.
10. Maintain store appearance and organization.
11. Report safety concerns and follow safe work practices.
12. Be resourceful, self-motivated, and committed to learning and improvement.
13. Adhere to company policies, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• State Licensure.
• Optical dispensing experience.
• Strong customer service skills: communication, listening, team building.
• Knowledge of current merchandise and fashion trends.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet.
• Familiarity with POS systems, computers, and calculators.
• Openness to new technology and change.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service and retail experience.
