Position Overview

The Licensed Optician upholds the brand's value proposition and helps establish LensCrafters as the premier destination for vision needs in the community. They create value by delivering exceptional customer service and high-quality eyewear that exceeds expectations.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Welcome customers and set expectations.
2. Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
3. Lead in optical expertise.
4. Take and record measurements accurately, adjust and fit eyewear with attention to detail, ensuring standards and customer needs are met.
5. Assist with complex product needs and prescriptions.
6. Use technology accurately and thoroughly despite time pressures, demonstrating exceptional product knowledge and tool use.
7. Be proactive in exploring root causes of issues, think forward, and ensure customer satisfaction and exceeding expectations.
8. Manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and handle competing priorities effectively.
9. Achieve results on Brand KPIs and competencies.
10. Maintain store appearance, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
11. Report safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
12. Be resourceful, self-motivated, and committed to continuous learning and improvement.
13. Adhere to company policies regarding discounts, promotions, and inventory management.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• State Licensure
• Optical dispensing experience
• Strong customer service skills: communication, listening, team building
• Knowledge of current store merchandise
• Basic math skills
• Awareness of current fashion trends
• Selling skills and ability to operate an iPad/tablet
• Familiarity with POS systems, computers, and calculators
• Openness to new technology and change

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service and retail experience
