General Function

The Licensed Optician helps establish For Eyes as the premier destination for vision needs by delivering exceptional customer service and high-quality eyewear that exceeds expectations.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Greet customers warmly, exchange names, and set expectations.
2. Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
3. Lead in optical knowledge and support associates.
4. Take measurements, adjust eyewear, and ensure standards are met.
5. Attract new customers.
6. Ask open-ended questions to explore customer needs.
7. Be attentive, ask follow-up questions, and review prescriptions for special needs.
8. Assist co-workers with complex product needs.
9. Use store tools and adhere to Brand Store Commitments.
10. Work accurately and thoroughly, demonstrating product knowledge and reinforcing customer choices.
11. Identify and resolve customer issues, ensuring satisfaction.
12. Manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
13. Meet delivery deadlines and seek feedback and referrals.
14. Achieve results on KPIs and competencies.
15. Present and educate customers at pickup.
16. Maintain store appearance and secure assets.
17. Report safety issues and follow safe work practices.
18. Show initiative, motivation, and a desire to learn and improve.
19. Follow company policies on discounts, promotions, and inventory.
20. Selling on your feet 80-100% of the time.
21. Perform additional duties as needed.
22. Maintain proper dress code including name tag and tablet.

Basic Qualifications

1. High School diploma or equivalent
2. State Licensure
3. Optical dispensing experience
4. Strong customer service and communication skills
5. Knowledge of current merchandise
6. Basic math skills
7. Awareness of fashion trends
8. Selling skills and familiarity with tablets
9. Experience with POS systems and calculators
