The role emphasizes technical dispensing skills, strong customer service, and ongoing product knowledge to support patient satisfaction and practice success.

Qualifications

• State licensure is required to practice.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• ABO/NCLE is preferred but not required.
• Optical dispensing experience is needed.
• HIPAA requirements experience preferred.
• PC skills to include MS Office and basic word processing.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and sales experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting eyewear and accessories that fit prescription, lifestyle, and style.
• Provide complete explanations of customized frame, lens, and service recommendations.
• Take and confirm measurements, ensure proper frame fit and lens dispensing.
• Enter prescription data into EHR and ALE systems; ensure documentation is complete.
• Educate patients on insurance, warranty coverage, and replacement options.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of frames, displays, and exam area.
