Job summary

Walmart’s Optical department in Raleigh, NC seeks a skilled Optician to assist members with eyewear, measure pupillary distance, and manage orders from dispensing to payment. You will educate members on eyewear care and ensure accurate prescription information while upholding high service standards.

The role includes maintaining the optical area, stocking, processing insurance claims, and collaborating with labs and optometrists to resolve issues and complete fittings.

Qualifications

• Maintain active state licensure and/or registration.
• ABO and NCLE certifications required.
• Sponsor Apprentice Optical Technicians as required by state regulations.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent (state-specific rules apply).

Responsibilities

• Provide member service in optical department, assist with eyewear decisions and consult on products.
• Measure pupillary distance and frame fitting; process eyewear orders and repairs.
• Handle payments, returns, and insurance processing via POS and EHR systems.
