Job summary

Walmart Inc. is seeking an optician to provide comprehensive eyewear services, assist members with purchases, and ensure accurate prescription processing. You will measure pupillary distance, perform adjustments, and coordinate with labs and optometrists to deliver quality eyewear.

The role includes registration and licensure maintenance, patient appointments, and adherence to HIPAA while delivering patient-focused optician services and benefit education.

Qualifications

• Must maintain Optician in Charge status and active state licensure.
• ABO and/or NCLE certifications must be current.
• NPI registration and licensure where applicable.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required unless state rules specify otherwise.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge members and assist with purchasing decisions, eyewear selection, and merchandise location.
• Perform eyewear measurements, fittings, adjustments, repairs, and final inspections.
• Process optical orders and verify prescription information with labs and optometrists.
• Schedule patient appointments, conduct pre-testing, and document results as applicable.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant records and handle insurance claims related to eye care materials.
