Our client in the luxury eyewear industry is seeking a Licensed Optician (ABOC) to join their SoHo gallery team. The ideal candidate is confident, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering exceptional service while meeting sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a personalized, elevated client experience while achieving individual sales targets and KPIs
• Build and maintain a strong client book with a focus on appointment-based relationships
• Guide clients in selecting frames and lenses based on prescription, fit, and lifestyle needs
• Accurately take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear, and ensure precise order fulfillment
• Process and communicate orders to external labs while managing timelines and follow-ups
• Assess and perform frame adjustments and minor repairs with accuracy
• Support and elevate the gallery team through optical knowledge and training
• Maintain organization, documentation accuracy, and adherence to operational procedures

Requirements

• Active ABOC License (required)
• 2–4 years of experience in an optician or optical retail environment
• Experience mounting and edging lenses; buffing and polishing experience is a plus
• Strong knowledge of prescriptions, lens options, and fitting techniques
• Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets in a client-focused environment
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and long-term client relationships
• Ability to multitask and collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced setting
