Job summary

Pendleton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Mystic, CT is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) for per diem coverage. You will assess residents, develop individualized treatment plans, and help them regain independence in daily activities.

Qualifications

• Connecticut OT license required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents' physical, cognitive, and functional abilities.
• Develop individualized treatment plans for ADLs.
• Provide interventions to improve ADLs, fine motor skills, and mobility.
• Train in adaptive equipment and compensatory techniques.
• Monitor progress and adjust plans as clinically appropriate.
• Educate residents and families on progress and techniques to support ongoing improvement.
• Collaborate with PTs, SLPs, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.

Diem Occupational Therapist to join our rehabilitation team!

What You'll Do

As an Occupational Therapist, you'll play an important role in helping residents achieve their highest level of independence and functional ability.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Evaluate residents' physical, cognitive, and functional abilities to develop individualized treatment plans.

• Provide therapeutic interventions to improve activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, bathing, grooming, and self-care.

• Help residents improve fine motor skills, coordination, strength, and functional mobility.

• Recommend and provide training in adaptive equipment and compensatory techniques to promote independence.

• Monitor and document resident progress, adjusting treatment plans as clinically appropriate.

• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on techniques to support continued progress.

• Collaborate with Physical Therapists, Speech Therapists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with facility policies and applicable regulations.

What We're Looking For

• Current, active Connecticut Occupational Therapist license required.

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.

• Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and communication skills.

• A compassionate, patient-centered approach to rehabilitation.

• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative healthcare team.

• Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care is preferred.
