QUALIFICATIONS:
The applicant shall possess the certification required by the applicable rules and regulations of the Louisiana State Department of Education and/or the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education at the time that the applicant begins to hold the position. Applicant must hold a valid license to practice occupational therapy in Louisian in complinace with R.S. 37:3001-3014, ad administered by the Board of Medical Examiners. (Must have COTA License)

JOB GOAL: To enable students to derive the fullest possible educational experience from school by providing a fullrange of pupil appraisal services to students in need of such assistance.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Providethe appropriate services to exceptional students according to the multidisciplinary evaluation results and the decision of the IEP committee.
2. Assistin the evaluation of students suspected of being exceptional according to established criteria as stated in Bulletin 1508.
3. Participate in IEP committee meetings on all students requiring services and maintains an annual review of IEPs on students being served.
4. Provide needed treatment according to IEP goals.
5. Obtain orders from the student's physician prior to providing services.
6. Participate in special education eligibility determination and IEP meetings
7. Provide necessary in-service training for school personnel and parents on topics and techniques related to the staff member's area of expertise.
8. Provide supervision to the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in accordance with the guidelines of the State Board of Medical Examiners and the Morehouse Parish School System.
9. Follow approved schedule as set forth in writing and approved by the appropriate authority in accordance with established guidelines.
10. Keep accurate and up-to-date records, including treatment provided, progress notes, attendance, and lesson plans on all students served.
11. Complete all required evaluation reports within the required timelines and established regulations.
12. Attend professional meetings and Keep abreast of current trends, techniques, and regulations.
EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated in accordance with the parish Evaluation Plan.
