Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife is seeking a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator for a full-time role. The Administrator will report to the Executive Director and oversee care-related departments to deliver person-centered services to residents.

Responsibilities include leading quality assurance, staff development, and ensuring regulatory compliance, while representing Otterbein in the community and driving mission alignment across operations.

Qualifications

  • Mission-driven passion for serving older adults.
  • Ability to cope with mental and emotional stress associated with elderly care.
  • Change agent capable of guiding Partners and Elders through change.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulations and compliance.
  • Excellent literacy, writing, documentation and interpersonal skills.
  • LNHA license in Michigan.
  • At least two years of Long Term Care Administrator experience.

Responsibilities

  • Member of the Leadership Team and contributes to Master Planning.
  • Supervise, coach, develop and retain staff.
  • Lead Quality Assurance processes and quarterly meetings.
  • Develop, monitor and report quality indicators for improvement.
  • Ensure operations comply with laws, regulations, and Otterbein policies.
  • Provide leadership in Residents Rights observance.
  • Participate in corporate teams to share best practices.
  • Represent Otterbein in the community.

Otterbein is a vibrant, faith-based, not-for-profit Senior Living Community that offer Independent and Assisted Living, Nursing Care, Memory Care and Rehabilitation in Michigan, Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. Otterbein Jackson, located in Jackson, MI, has an opening for a fulltime Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.


The Administrator reports to and partners with the Executive Director to lead the delivery of high quality services in a person centered environment. Responsibilities include overseeing departments related to the care and services to our Elders (residents), including but not limited to Activities, Hospice, Medical Records, Nursing, Social Services, Laundry, and Housekeeping. In addition, the Administrator will be responsible for Privacy and Quality Assurance, throughout the Community.


Responsibilities


  • Member of the Leadership Team.

  • Plays a vital role in the Master Planning for the Community.

  • Selects, supervises, coaches, develops and retains a high caliber of staff.

  • Builds a dynamic team environment that makes Otterbein’s Mission visible through the actions of all Partners (employees) and services.

  • Manages, leads, and facilitates the Quality Assurance process and quarterly meetings.

  • Develops, monitors, and reports statistical information and quality indicators used to evaluate operations and to develop quality improvement plans

  • Assures operations are in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations and Otterbein policies and procedures.

  • Provides leadership in the observance of Residents Rights.

  • Participates in corporate teams to share best practices and work assignments related to corporate operations.

  • Represents Otterbein in the community


Qualifications


  • A mission-driven passion for serving older adults

  • Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress related to working with persons who are ill, disabled, elderly, and/or emotionally upset.

  • A Change Agent. Must be able to help Partners and Elders through changes by communicating and building excitement and a positive environment for the change.

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Understand Federal, State and Local regulations and proactively respond to changes in compliance issues and deadlines.

  • Excellent literacy, writing, documentations, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s in Health/Long-Term Administration, Business, Gerontology, or related field, preferred. Master’s degree is a plus

  • Licensure/Certification: Have current LNHA license in Michigan

  • Experience: At least two years Long Term Care Administrator experience required
