Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health Administration or Business Administration or health related degree is preferred.
• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Nursing Home Administrator.
• 2 years experience in a Supervisor role, healthcare experience preferred.
• Must be knowledgeable of reimbursement regulations and nursing practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing facility administration.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must be able to read and interpret financial records, reports etc.
• Must be able to communicate policies, procedures, regulations, reports etc., to personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day to day functions of the facility in accordance with current federal and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility's programs and activities.
• Assist department directors in the development, use, and implementation of departmental policies and procedures and professional standards of practice.
• Ensure adherence to facility policies by employees, residents, visitors and the public.
• Conduct daily meetings with staff during facility inspections to discuss survey findings and corrective plans.
• Assist in developing plans of correction and monitoring to prevent recurrence of deficiencies.
• Review workforce competence and make necessary adjustments.
• Assist in recruitment and selection of staff and consultants.
• Counsel/discipline personnel as needed.
• Consult with department directors to improve operations and services.
• Coordinate in-service training and orientation programs.
• Maintain a warm, calm, and supportive facility atmosphere.
• Ensure physicians comply with policies; report issues to the Medical Director.
• Ensure safety regulations are followed (fire, smoking, infection control).
• Review incident reports and monitor risk management effectiveness.
• Ensure residence, staff, and visitors have a clean and safe environment; maintain equipment and supplies.
• Review and interpret monthly financial statements for the governing board.
• Report suspected fraud to appropriate agencies.
• Protect residents' rights and address complaints as appropriate.
• Maintain resident funds per regulations and keep accounting records.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
