Job summary

Dartmouth Health is seeking a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) in New Hampshire for per diem shifts. The role supports patient and unit flow under nursing supervision and delivers essential patient care in an acute setting.

Responsibilities include room setup, vital signs, accuchecks, hygiene assistance, and collaboration with PT/OT for transfers. Compliance with Meditech documentation and ward routines is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• New Hampshire LNA license required.
• 1 year LNA experience in acute care preferred.
• Detail oriented with the ability to multitask.
• Must be able to work independently as well as in a team setting.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong computer skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• BCLS preferred upon hire, required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Set up rooms for new admission and post-op patients.
• Performs accucheck controls when indicated.
• Makes beds and distributes meal trays and maintains clean environment in patient rooms.
• Performs vital signs as scheduled on patient, charts on flow sheet and reports any changes to the Nursing staff.
• Provides clean linen as needed and fresh water to patient twice a day, or more often if needed.
• Provides AM/PM care/bathing as instructed by nursing staff and documents task within Meditech.
• Record accurate I + O's on patients flow sheets within Meditech on all shifts, empties foley catheters at end of shift and reports any changes to Nursing staff.
• Assists nursing with woundcare as directed.
• Assist PT/OT with patient transfers and ambulating.
• Answer patient call lights throughout the day, alerting Nursing Staff of patient needs.
• Perform Accu-checks on patients as ordered, notifying Nursing of results and charting.
• Performs other related duties as directed by the Nursing Director Medical Surgical Services.
• Demonstrates unit specific competencies regarding lift equipment, use of the electronic scales, HilRom bed functionality, all patient alarms.

Position Objective
