Responsibilities

• Communicates with other HUCs to complete general secretarial duties to facilitate a well-run and organized department.
• Manages department phone calls and messages to support clear communication.
• Greets anyone entering the department to provide direction and assistance.
• Manages office supplies to support staff and patient care.
• Supports timely and confidential flow of patient documentation.
• Manages providers’ orders in the EMR (e-DH) and related documentation.
• Enter department work orders and follow up for completion.
• Maintain equipment manuals and pamphlets for staff use.
• Provide general support to providers for patient care needs (scheduling, transportation, consults, etc.).
• Provide support to the charge nurse for clear communication among staff.
• Assist clinical staff to meet patient needs (call bells, stretchers, equipment, transport).
• Assist Nurse Manager with unit projects.
• Demonstrates unit-specific competencies.
