Job Description

Mental Health Therapist, Counselor or Psychologist - Flexible Telehealth Position

Brightside Health is revolutionizing mental healthcare by delivering life-saving, virtual care to those who need it most. Powered by cutting-edge AI, purpose-built technology, and a world-class clinician network, our care model rivals the best in-person treatment. By combining precision psychiatry with advanced therapeutic techniques, we deliver exceptional outcomes for individuals facing mild to severe depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders.

Using an evidenced-based Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) counseling approach, our patients complete live video sessions with their therapist as well as self-guided video lessons outside of session. With Brightside’s innovative care model, 86% of our patients are feeling better in 12 weeks and we’re delivering 50%+ higher rates of response and remission when compared to a top US health system.

Brightside therapists also have the option to receive free training in the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicide (CAMS) to treat patients with elevated risk for suicide as part of our Suicide Prevention Program. Therapists will also have the opportunity to work with our Teen Therapy program and our MH and SUD Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) launching in the coming months.

What You’ll Gain:

  1. Unprecedented impact: You will use the Unified Protocol (UP) and evidence-based practices to help clients reach their treatment goals.
  2. Professional growth opportunities and clinical support: You will receive clinical support through weekly live drop-in consultation sessions with leadership and free monthly continuing education training (CEUs).
  3. Custom-built tools: Enjoy our easy-to-use electronic medical record (EMR) integrated with treatment software, assessment tools, progress monitoring, and crisis protocols for streamlined documentation and efficient, effective care.
  4. Billing support: Our therapist and client support teams handle all the billing so you can focus on providing care.
  5. Operational support: Our operational support teams provide clinical drop-in hours, IT support, member account/insurance support, and more.

Your Role as a Mental Health Therapist at Brightside:

  1. Provide weekly evidence-based care through live video sessions to individual adults.
  2. Collaborate with Brightside psychiatric providers to support comprehensive treatment and with fellow therapists.
  3. Draw on automatically administered symptom self-assessments, functional improvement, and goal progress measures to monitor and adjust treatment plans.
  4. Maintain timely clinical documentation through our user-friendly, reliable therapist portal.
  5. Receive support and consultation from the Therapy Leadership Team when needed.
  6. Create your own schedule, Monday - Sunday, 7 am to 9 pm.
  7. No on-call work.
  8. Free CEUs and training in CAMS.
  9. Malpractice coverage.
  10. Health Insurance personalized plan recommendations through Stride Health partnership.
  11. State of the art tools, customizable and reliable EMR integrated with artificial intelligence.

What We’re Looking For:

  1. Master’s or doctorate degree in clinical psychology, counseling, or clinical social work from an accredited program.
  2. An independent license in the state where you reside (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, LPC) from the USA (2+ state licenses is a huge plus).
  3. Experience working with higher risk populations and/or adolescent population.
  4. If participating in our IOP, experience working in this level of care is required.
  5. Licensed independently as a Therapist, Counselor or Psychologist for at least 1 year.
  6. Preferably 2 years of recent experience providing cognitive behavioral therapy and other evidence-based interventions.
  7. Must welcome treating all populations and committed to delivering culturally responsive care.
  8. Tech-savviness and enthusiasm for integrating digital solutions into clinical practice.
