Job Description

The Licensed (or License-Eligible) Mental Health Therapist plays a key leadership role within the agency, bringing strong clinical skills and working independently. They provide advanced mental health care through individual and group therapy, using proven treatment methods tailored to the needs of their clients. Responsibilities include crisis intervention, risk assessments, diagnostic evaluations (DSM), short-term stabilization, and discharge planning. The role involves creating thoughtful treatment plans for a diverse population and collaborating with in-house teams and outside providers, all within the agency’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  1. Follow all department and company guidelines, stay updated on best practices, and perform duties to professional standards.
  2. Coordinate care for patients needing follow-up support after hospital or long-term care entry.
  3. Maintain organization and meet deadlines.
  4. Work closely with supervisors and team members, taking on a leadership role.
  5. Seek personal growth opportunities and share knowledge with colleagues.
  6. Provide clinical support and act as a resource for the team.
  7. Support quality improvement, promote safety, and respect cultural differences.
  8. Deliver age-appropriate care addressing physical, emotional, and educational needs.
  9. Treat everyone with courtesy and professionalism.
  10. Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
  11. Complete required training and support organizational compliance.
Qualifications
  • A master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, family therapy, or a related field.
  • Missouri license (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PLPC, LMSW, or PLMFT) or working toward it.
  • If not licensed, willingness to begin the licensing process upon hire and follow supervision steps.
  • Knowledge of mental health terminology, diagnosis, and treatment approaches.
  • Research skills and understanding of mental health theory and practice.
  • Strong communication skills and teamwork ability.
  • Good judgment, adaptability, leadership qualities.
  • Completion of onboarding training.
  • If driving is required, meet company driving policy standards.
