Job summary

Waverly Health Center is seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor (LMHC) for Shell Rock, IA. This full-time position provides outpatient mental health assessments and counseling within Behavioral Health Services.

The role includes documenting services in eClinical Works, completing social histories, and collaborating with psychiatrists. Strong English communication and licensed LMHC in Iowa are required; master’s degree preferred. IPERS benefits and a collaborative team environment are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Must possess a master’s degree in mental health counseling and be licensed to practice as a LMHC in Iowa.
• Previous mental health counseling experience in an acute or outpatient setting preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to learn and navigate computer systems including online training modules, timesheets and performance appraisal systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient counseling and evidence-based mental health interventions.
• Document services in eClinical Works for billing submission.
• Complete comprehensive social histories to develop clinical assessment and treatment plans.
• Collaborates with psychiatrist in caring for behavioral health patients and provides support when needed.
• Serves as a resource to staff and facilitates Critical Incident Stress Debriefing when needed.
• Participates in in-services and continuing education activities.
• Participates in meetings and committees as assigned to increase knowledge and resources.
