Job summary

The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh is seeking a Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our counseling team, focusing on children, teens, and families. The role includes evenings and/or Saturday availability and both in-person and telehealth sessions.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
• Current PA clinical license (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) or licensure (LSW, LAPC).
• Ability to obtain clinical licensure within first year of hire.
• Minimum of one year experience in clinical work with children.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling to children, teens, and families.
• Work a minimum of two evenings and/or Saturday per regular schedule.
• Collaborate with counseling team during meetings or supervision.
• Deliver both in-person and telehealth services.
• Apply trauma-informed interventions and evidence-based practices.

Education

Job description

The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking a Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor. We are currently looking for a dynamic therapist, passionate about working with children, teens, and their families, with availability to work a minimum of two evenings and/or Saturday as part of a regular schedule. The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will be able to work as part of a counseling team and be supported through regular counseling treatment team meetings or supervision. This position serves both in person and telehealth clients.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field, required.
• Current, active, PA clinical license (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) or licensure (LSW, LAPC) with ability to obtain clinical licensure within first year of hire required.
• Minimum of one year experience in clinical work with children required.
• Strong knowledge of mental health conditions and evidence based therapeutic interventions for treatment required.
• Strong knowledge of the impact of trauma and trauma informed interventions required.
• Strong ability to build rapport with and communicate with all clients, regardless of age, preferred gender, sexual orientation, or other belief systems required.
• Experience working with children with a range of concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, loss, foster care or adoption preferred.
