Job summary

SPRINGFIELDS in Caldwell is seeking a licensed Medication Aide to ensure safe, accurate administration of medications to residents in a non-exempt facility. You will follow established policies, document administrations, and report any errors or adverse reactions, while maintaining compliance with state regulations and facility procedures.

The role requires a state-approved Medication Aide license and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a high school education or equivalent.
  • Licensed Medication Aide per state requirements.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and communicate with staff.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the policies and procedures governing the administering of medications to residents.
  • Note and report errors in the administration of medications.
  • Assist in developing procedures to determine what medication errors occur and how to prevent them.
  • Complete necessary forms, charts, or reports and submit as required.
  • Maintain professional relationships with Health Services staff, physicians, HSD, and pharmacists.
  • Report complaints or grievances by residents to the Health Services Director.
  • Participate in facility surveys and QA programs related to medication administration.
  • Accurately and safely prepare, administer, and document medications used for residents.
  • Verify medications brought into the facility by new residents are checked by the attending physician or facility pharmacy.
  • Follow labeling policies, charting procedures, and drug receipt/error documentation.
