Job summary

DEERCREEK is seeking a qualified Medication Aide to assist in administering medications to residents under physician orders. The role requires following nursing standards and facility policies, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring resident safety at all times.

You will collaborate with nurses, physicians, and pharmacists to support resident care, participate in QA activities, and report any adverse events or errors promptly.

Qualifications

• Must possess a state-licensed Medication Aide with approved training.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent attention to detail and observation skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow facility policies for administering medications to residents.
• Note and report errors in medication administration.
• Assist in developing procedures to prevent medication errors.
• Complete forms, charts, and reports as required.
• Maintain professional relationships with nursing staff, physicians, and pharmacists.
• Document and report any resident complaints to nursing leadership.
• Participate in quality assurance and medication safety programs.
• Prepare, administer, and document oral/topical medications as ordered.
• Verify resident identity before giving medications.
• Ensure medications are properly labeled and charted appropriately.
• Follow procedures for discontinued or transferred medications.
• Observe and document patient responses and refusals as directed.
