Job summary

PACS is seeking a licensed Medication Aide to assist in administering medications to residents under physician orders and nursing supervision. You will follow facility policies, document administration, and report any errors promptly while maintaining resident safety and confidentiality.

In this role you will collaborate with the nursing team, attend trainings, and participate in quality assurance activities related to medication management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed Medication Aide with state-approved training.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret regulations.
• Ability to document and report medication administration accurately.

Responsibilities

• Follow facility policies governing administration of medications.
• Note and report errors in medication administration.
• Assist in developing procedures to prevent medication errors.
• Complete forms, charts, and reports as required.
• Maintain professional relationships with nursing staff, physicians, and pharmacists.
• Assist in QA programs and medication-related committees.
• Prepare, administer, and document oral/topical medications per orders.
• Verify medications brought by new residents are examined by attending physician or pharmacist.
• Follow labeling, charting, and documentation procedures.
• Report adverse reactions or errors to the Charge Nurse or Director of Nursing Services.
