Job summary

PACS is seeking a licensed Medication Aide to assist in administering medications to residents under physician and nursing supervision. You will ensure compliance with facility policies, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in quality assurance activities and medication-related committees.

Responsibilities include error reporting, medication labeling, and safeguarding resident health information, with emphasis on safety and teamwork within the nursing department.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Follow facility policies for administering medications to residents.
• Note and report errors in medication administration.
• Assist in developing procedures to reduce medication errors.
• Complete required forms, charts, and reports.
• Maintain professional relationships with nursing staff, physicians, and pharmacists.
• Report resident complaints to the Director of Nursing Services.
• Participate in quality assurance programs and medication-related committees.
• Prepare, administer, and document oral and topical medications as ordered.
• Verify medications brought by new residents are identified by the physician or pharmacist.
• Follow labeling, charting, and medication destruction procedures as required.
• Ensure proper medication documentation and resident identification before treatment.
• Document and manage discontinued medications as directed.
