Position Responsibilities and Qualifications

Summary of Job Duties: This position involves working three 12-hour shifts (Fri-Sun or Sat-Mon) with an additional 4-hour coverage (Tues evenings, remote option). The Licensed Social Worker at the Psychiatric Research Institute's adult inpatient units will assist patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams through care episodes, including discharge planning, individual, group, and family therapy, and communication with patients. Services are provided through the Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Service.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Social Work
  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) by an Arkansas Professional Board
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in acute, adult mental health
  • Two years of work in the behavioral health field
  • CPR and CPI certification (required upon hire and prior to hire, respectively)

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Organize patient support groups and advocate for patients in the community
  • Assist with education, coping strategies, and mental health issues
  • Investigate child abuse or neglect cases and take protective actions when necessary
  • Intervene in crises and conduct needs assessments
  • Provide psychosocial assistance regarding financial, housing, transportation, food, and medication challenges

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience
