UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL seeks a Social Worker to provide psychosocial support to patients and families across inpatient and ambulatory settings, including the Emergency Department.

The role focuses on psychosocial assessments, resource referrals, discharge planning, and care coordination, with opportunities for career development through a clinical ladder and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work is required and cannot be substituted.
• Licensed as LMSW by the Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days of employment (if not in UAB Hospital, training is different).

Responsabilités

• Provide psychosocial support for individuals, families and groups.
• Advise and educate families, provide counseling and referrals.
• Facilitate discharge planning and identify community resources.
• Serve as a clinical resource to students and the community.
