Job description

Description

Use your clinical expertise. Serve your community. Make an impact beyond the therapy room.

Make a meaningful difference where behavioral health, community care, and service to others come together.

Riverbend Community Mental Health is seeking a Licensed Clinician to join our Community Support Program (CSP) team and serve as our designated Veteran & Active-Duty Military Services Coordinator. This unique role combines direct clinical practice with leadership, consultation, and care coordination to expand accessible, recovery-oriented, and culturally responsive behavioral health services for individuals and families connected to military service.

As a member of Riverbend’s CCBHC interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive, evidence-based behavioral health services to adults with complex and ongoing behavioral health needs. You’ll build meaningful therapeutic relationships, collaborate across disciplines, and deliver care where it is most effective—including office, home, and community settings.

At Riverbend, behavioral healthcare extends beyond the office. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to meet people where they are, provide meaningful clinical care, strengthen connections to community resources, and help ensure veterans and military-connected individuals receive the responsive and accessible services they deserve.

Approximately 30 hours per week will focus on CSP clinical responsibilities, with approximately 10 hours per week dedicated to the Veteran & Active-Duty Military Services Coordinator function.

Why Join Us?
  • This is an opportunity to combine direct clinical practice with meaningful program-level impact. You’ll have the opportunity to:
  • Build strong therapeutic relationships while supporting individuals in their communities.
  • Work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary CCBHC model of care.
  • Serve as a key resource for veteran and military-connected behavioral health services.
  • Help strengthen culturally responsive and recovery-oriented care across the organization.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, case managers, care coordinators, prescribers, peer support staff, and other members of the treatment team.
  • Make a meaningful difference for individuals navigating complex behavioral health needs.
What You’ll Do
  • Provide evidence-based assessment, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, treatment planning, and care coordination to adults in the CSP program.
  • Deliver services in office, home, and community settings as part of an interdisciplinary CCBHC team.
  • Serve as Riverbend’s Veteran & Active-Duty Military Services Coordinator, supporting accessible, culturally responsive behavioral health services for veterans, service members, and military-connected families.
  • Provide clinical consultation, coordination, and resource navigation for staff and military-connected individuals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and community partners to promote continuity of care, recovery, and improved outcomes.
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and support CCBHC quality and service requirements.
Who You Are:

You’re a compassionate, clinically confident, and collaborative licensed clinician who enjoys building meaningful relationships and helping people achieve lasting recovery. You bring strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and a commitment to meeting clients where they are—literally and figuratively.

You are someone who:

  • Values person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care.
  • Thrives in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.
  • Is comfortable balancing independent clinical decision-making with team-based care.
  • Enjoys variety and is energized by both direct clinical work and consultation/coordination.
  • Brings strong communication, organization, and clinical documentation skills.
  • Has an interest in supporting the unique behavioral health needs of veterans, active-duty military personnel, and military-connected families.
  • Wants to use your clinical expertise not only to support individual clients, but also to strengthen the services and systems around them.
Requirements

  • Experience in evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, DBT) and knowledge of substance use treatment.
  • A valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and auto insurance with minimum coverage of 100,00/300,00 are essential. Experience working with veterans, active-duty military members, National Guard or Reserve members, military families, the VHA, or veteran-serving organizations is preferred.
  • Must complete required training in military and veteran culture and develop working knowledge of VHA enrollment, veteran eligibility, TRICARE, military treatment facilities, and community-based veteran resources.
