LMT Wanted at Salishan Coastal Lodge - Commission Based + Grat (on average $50 to $54 per hour)
The Licensed Massage Therapist is responsible for assessing clients' needs, customizing massage treatments, and delivering exceptional care to promote relaxation, pain relief, and overall wellness.
The Licensed Massage Therapist shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. They will be responsible for exemplifying the SCP’s Culture & Core Values.
The Licensed Massage Therapist is required to accurately record all hours of work through the use of SCP’s timekeeping system. Accurately recording time is required to ensure that the Licensed Massage Therapist is paid for all hours worked as required by the wage and hour laws. Working “off the clock” is strictly prohibited. If any manager or supervisor directs you to, or suggests that you should, perform work while not “on the clock,” you must notify Regional Director of People Services immediately. Similarly, the Licensed Massage Therapist is not permitted to perform work after hours or from home without specific direction from their supervisor. In the event such work is authorized, all time spent working must be reported on the employee’s time record.
The Job
- Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
- Observing guest reactions and conferring frequently with team members to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain positive guest relations at all times. Resolve guest complaints to over-the-moon satisfaction.
- Follow Hotel policies with lost and found items.
- Adhere to Hotel requirements for guest and team member accidents or injuries and in emergency situations.
- Continuously promote sanitation, safety, and security efforts.
- Embrace and exemplify the SCP Culture & Core Values in your work.
- Responsible for maintaining an active license throughout your employment, any associated fees, and keeping records of all continued education or any required training.
- Continuously develop your knowledge and skills by staying updated with industry trends and participating in relevant training and workshops.
- Uphold ethical standards and adhere to all state and federal regulations.
- Unsolicited “upselling” or requesting reviews are considered unethical and risk licensure by the state. However, Spa staff will encourage guests to leave 5 star reviews as needed.
- Conduct comprehensive consultations with clients to understand their specific need health history, and any concerns or limitations before each session.
- Utilize a variety of esthetics knowledge to address various session goals based on individual client preferences to ensure a comfortable and safe experience.
- Communicate effectively with clients throughout the session to gauge comfort levels and adjust techniques as necessary.
- Offer professional advice and recommendations to clients on post-treatment care, including different exercises and self-care practices.
- Educate clients about the benefits of regular spa treatments, related services, and products when appropriate to enhance their overall well-being.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism in all aspects of the job especially in times where clients may be emotionally processing or feeling insecure about their bodies.
- Ability to adhere to service protocols as needed and follow best practices for the spa.
- Regularly monitor appointment calendars as needed to understand service start and end times, room assignments, special instructions, and other relevant information.
- Strong understanding of how to navigate uncomfortable or potentially unsafe situations. Reporting all inappropriate behavior as soon as possible to management.
- Maintain clean and organized working areas, ensuring all equipment and supplies are ready for use at all times. Reporting any issues to management as soon as possible.
- Continuously promote a warm and inclusive environment for guests' of all different backgrounds, ethnicities, sexualities, and gender identities.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a cohesive and harmonious atmosphere within the spa center.

- Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Compassionate and attentive to the needs of each individual, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Strong communication and active listening skills to comprehend client concerns and tailor treatments accordingly.
- Professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
- Physical stamina to perform massages throughout the day and lift/move equipment when necessary.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per business needs.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency and empathy.
- Outstanding coordination and multi-tasking abilities.
- Must have the ability to resolve problems and/or conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
Supervision
- Reports to the Spa Manager.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have an active massage license for the state of employment
- Prior experience in a Spa/Salon environment preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of massage techniques with a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology is preferred.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit and or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull 50 lbs.
- Must be able to sit/lean over for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally.
- Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis.
- While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat).
- Must be able to work in variable room temperatures.
- Noise level is usually moderate.
