Position: Massage Therapist

Location: 304th Rescue Squadron, Portland Air National Guard, OR, Portland, Oregon

Job Summary

CMTs provide injury prevention services for musculoskeletal conditions in AFSPECWAR operators. The CMT evaluates and provides massage therapy as part of injury prevention and performance enhancement programs, focusing on neck and back soft tissue dysfunction and recovery to improve quality of life for personnel. This is a non-personal service position.

Responsibilities
  1. Evaluate and provide massage therapy to assigned personnel, with follow-ups based on needs and injury prevention plans.
  2. Develop individualized programs to increase neck and back conditioning and overall health.
  3. Schedule and provide ongoing massage therapy, prioritizing needs to maximize benefits.
  4. Advise unit commanders on injury prevention, administrative matters, and resource needs.
  5. Review equipment, products, and literature to improve injury prevention strategies.
  6. Coordinate with medical facilities for personnel with medical conditions or injuries.
  7. Ensure safe operation of equipment and maintain a safe work environment.
  8. Attend annual training as required.
Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with stakeholders and providing briefings.
  • Teamwork skills to facilitate goal achievement and systemic improvements.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Research skills to evaluate practices and outcomes.
  • Proficiency with computers and data analysis software.
  • Ability to present data and analysis effectively.
Educational and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or higher.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working with athletes or SOF personnel; or specific educational and experience combinations as detailed.
  • Certification from a CMT program and current state license or certification.
  • CPR/AED certification.
Additional Details

Salary: Based on experience.

Position Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday, excluding holidays.
