Job summary

The Westin Portland Harborview in Portland, ME is seeking a Spa Therapist to greet guests, perform treatments, and maintain spa rooms per standards. You will promote products and ensure guest safety and satisfaction throughout each service.

Responsibilities include consultations, room preparation, and collaboration with colleagues to uphold a welcoming, professional spa environment. Evening and weekend availability may be required to support guest needs.

SPA THERAPIST

POSITION PURPOSE: The Spa Therapist is responsible for setting up treatment stations, greeting guests and explaining services, conducting pre-treatment consultations, promoting treatment products, and maintaining treatment rooms.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Maintain strong knowledge of spa operations, treatments, packages, products, equipment, and property amenities.
  • Prepare, clean, disinfect, and restock treatment rooms and equipment before and after each service.
  • Greet guests, confirm services, obtain required medical releases, conduct consultations, and explain proper draping procedures.
  • Perform spa treatments according to company standards, safety guidelines, and applicable regulations.
  • Recommend and sell appropriate spa products based on guest needs and preferences.
  • Deliver personalized guest service, including maintaining guest history records, providing directions, promoting property amenities, and resolving concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, professional, and welcoming environment for guests and employees.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, managers, and other departments.
  • Participate in meetings and training on new products, procedures, programs, events, and service improvements.
  • Follow all company policies and service standards while maintaining confidentiality of guest, employee, and company information.
  • Assist with additional departmental duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

Education and/or Experience

  • Secondary school degree preferred and/or previous work experience in service for at least 1 year.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Understanding of lifestyle hotel products and guest services.
  • Must meet legal requirements for any required licensing.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
