Responsibilities and Expectations for Massage Therapist

• Evaluate clients' soft tissue condition, joint quality and function, muscle strength, and range of motion.
• Develop and propose client treatment plans specifying the types of massage to be used.
• Consult with clients about medical histories and stress or pain issues to determine the suitability of massage therapy.
• Massage and knead muscles and soft tissues to treat medical conditions, injuries, or for wellness maintenance.
• Prepare and blend oils for application to clients' skin.
• Collaborate with other health care professionals like physiotherapists, chiropractors, physicians, and psychologists to develop treatment plans.
• Maintain detailed and accurate treatment records.
• Keep the workspace and common areas sterile and clean.
• Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
• Adhere to non-solicitation policies for customers and employees.

Qualifications for Massage Therapist

• Valid state license for massage therapy in WA.
• Experience in a spa or medical setting preferred.
• 4+ years' professional massage therapy experience preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Proficient in reflexology, Swedish, prenatal, hot stone, trigger point, sports, deep tissue, Thai, lymphatic drainage, couples, and cupping massages.
• Dress code: scrubs or business casual, closed-toe shoes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform massages on diverse clients.
• Maintain a professional appearance with good hygiene.

Compensation

• Commission and/or hourly based on experience:
• Starting base: $45-$66/hour + tips.
• Commission: 38.5-40% plus tips and monthly bonuses.
