Job summary

Muckleshoot Casino Resort in Auburn, WA is seeking a licensed Massage Therapist to deliver a range of massage services in a spa setting. You will check in guests, tailor sessions, and maintain client records while upholding HIPAA, hygiene, and professional standards.

You’ll educate clients on benefits, collaborate with spa staff, and participate in trainings. The role offers base pay starting at $25.70 per hour with potential up to $52.00 per service hour plus gratuities and performance bonuses,

Qualifications

• Valid Massage Therapist license/certification from WA State Department of Health.
• Class IIIB gaming license may be required for the venue.
• 1 year of proven experience as a Massage Therapist, preferably in a spa or wellness center.
• Proficiency in various massage techniques and modalities.
• 2 years of customer service experience.
• Hospitality experience a plus.
• American Heart CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Check in guests and confirm appointments in a timely fashion.
• Perform Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, aromatherapy and other modalities.
• Create a comfortable treatment room with appropriate ambiance and equipment.
• Educate clients on benefits of regular massage and recommend treatment plans.
• Maintain client records and progress notes while upholding HIPAA.
• Collaborate with spa staff to ensure a seamless guest experience.
• Uphold hygiene and professional appearance standards.
• Offer Body Services (e.g., scrubs and wraps) as part of duties.

• Base compensation starts at $25.70 per hour, with potential earnings reaching up to $52.00 perservice hour, alongside gratuities. This includes a 25% commission on services provided and the opportunity for discretionary performance bonuses 2X yearly.

What You’ll Do

• Exemplifies MCR’s values and set a great example by always demonstrating excellent guest service and professionalism.
• Practice, support and promote the mission, vision, and values of Muckleshoot Casino Resort.
• Check in guests and confirm appointments in a timely and friendly manner.
• Assist in managing reservation software.
• Perform various massage techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, aromatherapy, and other specialized modalities, tailored to the client's needs.
• Consult with clients to assess their specific concerns, medical history, and preferences before each session.
• Strictly adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Create a comfortable and serene environment for clients by setting up treatment rooms with appropriate ambiance and equipment.
• Customize massages to address specific muscular issues, injuries, or stress points.
• Educate clients on the benefits of regular massage therapy and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including session notes and progress.
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards of conduct in client interactions.
• Uphold hygiene and sanitation standards in the treatment area and equipment.
• Maintain the highest level of personal hygiene and professional appearance while on duty.
• Collaborate with other spa staff to create a seamless and relaxing experience for clients.
• Promote MCR spa services and products to clients based on their needs and preferences.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new massage techniques, and wellness practices.
• Attend various trainings for product and service knowledge.
• Creates, maintains, and facilitates a positive and safe work environment; promotes positive team member relations and reports issues to the appropriate personnel.
• (A massage therapist will also be required to offer “Body Services” in addition to massage. (Example: body scrubs and wraps)
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

• Ability to obtain a Class IIIB gaming license.
• Valid Massage Therapist license/certification from WA State Department of Health.
• American Heart or CPR Certification Required.
• 1 (one) year of proven experience as a Massage Therapist, preferably in a spa or wellness center.
• Proficiency in various massage techniques and modalities.
• 2 (two) years of customer service experience.
• Hospitality experience a plus.
