Job summary

American Cruise Lines seeks Engineers for our growing fleet sailing inland and coastal waterways. The Engineer oversees all technical operation, maintenance, and safe performance of ship systems, reporting to the Captain.

This role requires MMC, diesel, hydraulics, electrical systems, and a commitment to safety. It offers full-time on-board work with rotation and benefits including health and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Valid Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) required.
• Experience with diesel propulsion machinery and shipboard systems.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and safety protocols.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Willingness to work aboard for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot shipboard propulsion, auxiliary, and electrical systems.
• Provide 24/7 response to technical issues and emergencies.
• Coordinate repairs and maintenance with ship crew and Port Engineers.
• Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and safety standards.
• Document maintenance, repairs, and inventory; oversee onboard equipment.
