Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Licensed Journeyman Sheetmetal Technicians for projects in New London County, CT. This first shift opportunity offers a pay rate up to $48/hour based on experience and skill level.

Join a team that emphasizes safety, productivity, and craftsmanship on both commercial and residential HVAC ductwork projects. You will read blueprints, fabricate, install, and secure sheet metal systems while maintaining a safe jobsite.

Qualifications

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction Certification required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Must wear proper PPE.
• Reliable and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Install rectangular, round, and spiral HVAC ductwork.
• Install flashings, drainpipes, and furnace casings on new construction and active jobsites.
• Cut, bend, measure, and shape sheet metal using brakes, shears, punch presses, and rolling/crimping machines.
• Fabricate and install sheet metal systems according to project specifications.
• Read and interpret architectural blueprints, mechanical drawings, sketches, and product submittals.
• Secure joints and seams using welding, soldering, brazing, rivets, bolts, and metal driver clips.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Follow OSHA regulations and all jobsite safety requirements.

This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is up to $48/hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope:

• Install rectangular, round, and spiral HVAC ductwork
• Install flashings, drainpipes, and furnace casings on new construction and active jobsites
• Cut, bend, measure, and shape sheet metal using brakes, shears, punch presses, and rolling/crimping machines
• Fabricate and install sheet metal systems according to project specifications
• Read and interpret architectural blueprints, mechanical drawings, sketches, and product submittals
• Secure joints and seams using welding, soldering, brazing, rivets, bolts, and metal driver clips

• Follow OSHA regulations and all jobsite safety requirements

Requirements:

• Valid Connecticut SM-1, SM-2, or Limited Sheet Metal License
• Commercial and/or residential HVAC sheet metal experience
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction Certification required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Experience fabricating and installing HVAC duct systems
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders and work in varying jobsite conditions
• Must wear proper PPE
• Valid driver's license
• Must be able to pass background and drug screenings
• Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a team
