Job summary

Thermall Heating, Cooling & Electric is seeking a Licensed HVAC Service Tech in Yakima, WA, for a full-time role. You will travel to customers’ homes to assess systems, identify needs, and perform repairs, tune-ups, and maintenance on furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, and air conditioning equipment.

Qualifications

• Must hold Washington State 06A or 06B electrician license.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems, electrical parts, and refrigeration principles.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Ability to work independently in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• EPA certification would be preferred but isn't required for the right person.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customers' homes to assess systems and identify repair and replacement opportunities.
• Explain repair recommendations and service options to customers.
• Perform repairs, tune-ups, and preventive maintenance on furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, and AC equipment.
• Work on refrigeration systems and follow EPA guidelines to check refrigerant levels and leaks.
• Replace components such as motors, capacitors, compressors, and thermostats.
• Test equipment for functionality and complete service reports and work orders.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• Current Washington State 06A or O6B electrician license
• Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems, electrical parts, and refrigeration principles
• Ability to accurately interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals
• Ability to work independently and in various weather conditions
• Ability to serve Cle Elum, Ellensburg, Lower Valley, and Yakima
• Communication and customer service skills
• Organizational skills and efficient time management abilities
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
• Neat and professional appearance

EPA certification would be preferred but isn't required for the right person.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Our Licensed HVAC Service Techs work Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, or 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Some on-call is required for emergency services.

You'll be traveling to customers' homes to assess their existing systems, identify repair needs and replacement opportunities, and complete high-quality services in compliance with all company and industry protocols. With a professional attitude, you'll speak with customers about their needs and clearly explain repair recommendations and service options. After gaining approval, you'll perform repairs, seasonal tune-ups, and preventive maintenance on furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, air conditioning equipment, and ventilation systems.

You'll also work on refrigeration systems and follow EPA guidelines to check refrigerant levels, identify leaks, and handle refrigerants. As needed, you'll replace components like motors, capacitors, compressors, and thermostats. Before wrapping up the job, you'll test the equipment for functionality and fill out service reports and work orders. We'll provide you with a vehicle, and you'll be responsible for keeping the inventory stocked with parts and tools.
