Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking an HVAC Technician for St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport. You will install, maintain and repair ventilation and air conditioning systems while identifying risks and diagnosing faults.

The role requires 3 years of general commercial HVAC experience and CT licenses (Heating & Cooling and Freon Recovery). Preference for Medical Gas licensure. Candidates must be able to operate electronic devices, communicate directions clearly, braze/sodder piping, and work

Qualifications

• 3 years general commercial HVAC required.
• Valid CT Heating & Cooling license and Freon Recovery license required.
• Medical Gas (MG-1 or MG-2) licensure preferred.
• Able to operate electronic devices.
• Ability to communicate and understand directions.
• Ability to braze and sodder piping.
• Ability to work in a crouching or standing position for a long period of time.
• Ability to work on ladders and scaffolding for long periods of time.
• Ability to effectively operate in high locations.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain piping (copper, Pex, screw pipe, PVC, CPVC, gas), duct work, ductless split systems, boilers (water & steam), water source heat pump systems
• Problem solve HVAC system issues using hand tools, testing equipment and measuring devices to evaluate and repair systems
• Abide by proper reclaiming and environmentally sound disposal of refrigerants currently used in industry
• Perform other related duties as required
