Job summary

Springfield Funeral & Cremation in Springfield, Tennessee seeks an experienced Funeral Director to guide families through the funeral and memorialization process.

You will consult with families, present options, coordinate with clergy, oversee staff, and ensure all documents and arrangements are handled with care. Candidates should have a four-year degree, a valid Funeral Director license, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; the role is part-time with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience as a licensed Funeral Director.
• Valid state Funeral Director License in good standing; reciprocal across states.

Responsibilities

• Consults with client families to design services meeting memorialization expectations.
• Ensures families are presented with all merchandising and service options.
• Obtains information for obituaries, death certificates, burial permits, and insurance.
• Coordinates service arrangements with clergy and other participants.
• Plans, schedules, and conducts visitations and services.
• Oversees employees in services, ensuring professional representation.
• Prepares the deceased including dressing and casketing.
• Directs and ushers families to and from the service location.
• Instructs Apprentice Funeral Directors on services and paperwork.
• Performs removals and transfers into Park Lawn’s care.
