Job summary

Skilled Trades Partners is hiring licensed Journeyman Electricians with commercial solar experience for projects based out of Buffalo Grove, IL and throughout Illinois. This is an opportunity for experienced solar electricians seeking steady work and strong earning potential.

Base pay ranges from $40 to $45 per hour with prevailing wage on approximately 95% of projects and daily per diems of $125 to $175 when traveling. Full benefits are provided. Local travel across Illinois is common.

Qualifications

• Active electrical license required (Chicago, Elgin, or applicable municipal license).
• Commercial solar experience required.
• OSHA certification.
• Experience with rooftop and/or ground-mount solar strongly preferred.
• Must have own basic electrical hand tools.
• Reliable transportation.
• Willingness to travel throughout Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical installations on commercial solar projects.
• Work on rooftop and ground-mount/community solar systems.
• Install and bend conduit.
• Pull and terminate wire.
• Install electrical equipment, panels, disconnects, and related components.
• Read electrical drawings, layouts, and project specifications.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems as needed.
• Follow NEC, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements.
• Travel to projects throughout Illinois as needed.
